Laura Ó Reilly is an interdisciplinary artist and social designer specializing in building regenerative communities that foster connection, peer-to-peer support, and network effects. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she is an alumna of the New Museum’s creative tech incubator, NEW INC. There, she led Wallplay, an experiential arts and impact innovation network that scaled to over 20 locations and evolved into a multi-million-dollar business. As CEO and Founder, Laura secured $1.4M in funding and developed a B2B network marketplace that “match-made” Wallplay’s community of artists, agencies, brands, and landlords with vacant spaces. Following Wallplay’s closure in 2020 due to the prolonged pandemic, Laura joined the board of the nonprofit ChaShaMa and partnered with the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) to launch Technology Gap, a program that educated over 2,000 NYC artists on blockchain technology, including how to create eco-responsible NFTs ahead of Ethereum’s transition to a more energy-efficient “proof-of-stake” model.
Laura recently launched L Ó R, an experiential art and social design studio based in Brooklyn, New York. Previously, she served as a Principal at Buro Happold, a global engineering, design, and advisory firm. Her pioneering work has been featured in Forbes, The New York Times, New York Magazine’s The Cut, and Artnet, as well as on national television. Laura holds a BA in New Media from SUNY Purchase, a certificate in Systems Thinking from MIT, and a certification in Blockchain Economics & Digital Assets from the Wharton Business School.
